FUSE isn't run/verified during an install - that requires a separate invocation
of setld with -v (verify). We don't bring up any GUI or display anything during
the install. I'll try to get some time on one of the machines on which we're
seeing the problem to look for some more info.

Trace,

I looked into this further and found an undocumented
feature that was added to tt_type_comp that causes a
message to be sent to ttsession causing ttsession to
re-read types.xdr. Because no ttsession is running in
your rlogin session, the tooltalk library starts a
ttsession for you. This is where the problem lies.

There is no local ttsession running and your display
environmental variable is set. So ttsession is trying
to open that display. However you have no permission to
do so. This causes the Xlib warning.

There should be a way to turn off the tt_type_comp to
ttsession notification behavior. I will look into this.

In the mean time, you can try adding
/usr/dt/bin/ttsession -c prior to running
/usr/dt/bin/tt_type_comp. This way the message will be
sent to the private ttsession.
