A user gets this error message when he tries to reply "Y" on a return notification using TeamLinks 2.7: An error was encountered while sending the receipt notification. Mail Server Submit error. A communication error with the mail server has occurred while sending the mail message. He has tried doing the return notification from 2 PCs running Windows95 and 1 PC running Windows NT Workstation 4.0 with his same account and has the same problem from all three! Anyone seen this? Know what is going on? Know how to fix it? Appreciating any inputs. Thanks!

I believe this is the answer. The protection on A1MAIL$.DIR directory is not set properly. Enter the following command at the $ prompt: $DIR/SEC A1MAIL$.DIR The protection should look as follows: A1MAIL$.DIR;1 [userid] (RWE,RWE,,) (IDENTIFIER=[MUAS$SERVER],OPTIONS=PROTECTED,ACCESS=READ+WRITE) (IDENTIFIER=[MUAS$SERVER],OPTIONS=DEFAULT+PROTECTED,ACCESS=READ+WRITE+ DELETE+CONTROL) Usually the [MUAS$SERVER] access control information is missing. This will happen if the A1MAIL$.DIR is created manually instead of X4MAN creating it when the user is added. |
