TeamLinks V2.5 ALL-IN-1 V3.1 TLC V2.5 A customer just had a very interesting problem described to me: She has a user who was working without any problems. This user has about 11 drawers in her file cabinet. Then she used RNA to rename this user. The rename finished successfully, however the user was unable to open the MAIN drawer to get to the folders. No error was generated and the behavior was as if the drawer had no folders. She had no problem with any other drawers. From within ALL-IN-1 we had no problem accessing the folders. I was able to remotely login to the customer's system and using SM MFC MD I noticed that this user had several drawers which really didn't exist and I removed these and that the MAIN drawer was SHARED with only the user defined having complete access. After I modified the drawer to be NON-SHARED she was able to open it up. This seems strange to me. Thanks, Cb.

Were the folders accessible in the ALL-IN-1 VT client after the rename user? Is it possible this an ALL-IN-1 bug in Rename User which only affects users who access via the ALL-IN-1 servers? Did TeamLinks have any old user info cached on the PC that might have contributed to this problem? Lots of questions. I think this problem should be reported to ALL-IN-1, perhaps in their notes conference. Bob |
