I have a customer who needs to know how the script editor defines folder aliases in OFFICE.INI. The ALL-IN-1 entries are in text but the DecMailWorks entries have some kind of criptic code number at the end of each entry. My customer is using the script editor to write command sets to move drawers from DecMailWorks to ALL-IN-1. If you can explain the entries in OFFICE.INI, can you also explain how the same information can be extracted from the DecWailWorks messaage stores.

Why isn't the customer using the Folder Alias dialog box to define the Folder Alias's? Mike
2184.2 | External object id, for use by Service Provider only. | XANADU::x400it.zko.dec.com::manana::rought | Fri May 09 1997 13:01 | 12
Folder aliases are external object ids. Everything past the first token (which describes the service provider) is unique to the service provider. No code other than the service provider should try to decipher or use the information. The end of a MailWorks external object id is an encoded record id. This will not be useful to you. Using the CFC interface (available with the SDK) external object ids can be used to retrieve objects from the file cabinet. Dave |
