I have a customer reporting a problem with the MIME decode when using
umlauts and equals signs.
For example create a text message as follows:
 = AE
Send it via internet and mime encoded.
When decoded the '=' has been replaced by a space.
I have tried this on V2.7-001 and V2.7-002 with the same result.
Using RTF appears to work OK. I have tried it on both Win95 and NT.
Anybody know anything about it or is it IPMT time?
Regards,
Brian

| 2180.1 | MIME encode bug, equals signs encoded as spaces | TAMARA::qwert.zko.dec.com::McClung | John McClung, 381-2774 | Wed May 07 1997 15:52 | 13 |
Yuk. This is a bug with the TeamLinks MIME encoder. Equals signs in text bodyparts (cover memos or attachments) which contain at least one 8 bit character (the umlaut char in your case) are incorrectly quoted-printable encoded as spaces. This will be fixed in TeamLinks 3.0. Please submit an IPMT to get it fixed sooner (like in 2.7 ECO3). Thanks for reporting this. John | |||||
