2178.0. "Cannot save html file to file cabinet" by WOTVAX::16.183.112.106::wotvax.reo.dec.com::fitzpatrick (Wisest is she who knows she does not know) Tue May 06 1997 21:19

  Hi,

  Software:  TeamLinks 2.7 ECO-1
	     Microsoft Word for Windows 6.0
	     Microsoft Internet Assistant for Word V6.0
	     Windows 3.1

  I have a customer that is trying to save *.html files from Word to
  the TeamLinks File Cabinet. When he saves he makes sure that the
  selected file type is html. Upon saving he receives the following
  error message:

        No viewer is available for the object type Hypertext Markup
        Language.
        Launch the application that is associated with this object?

  I read note 795 as they were having a similar error message and it
  refers to a file called ToolWin.DLL. I have searched for this file
  but can't seem to find it so I assume it has been given a different
  name or incorporated in the SSB release of TeamLinks 2.7.

  Any ideas?

  Many thanks,

  Emer

Emer,

Are they using the TL integration macros for Word 6.0? I think they
are incompatible with Internet Assistant (IA).

Are they using Infoman File New or File Launch for an existing HTML file?

If they are using File New, then do they have a Template file configured
into TL under the HTML tag.

I don't know if we ever tested Infoman Launching with Word and IA.

2178.2wants to save html to FCWOTVAX::16.60.80.124::wotvax.reo.dec.com::fitzpatrickWisest is she who knows she does not knowWed May 28 1997 20:2661
Hi Bob,

When the customer double-clicks on Html documents that are currently in
his file cabinet Netscape is launched.

A template was not configured with the Html format, so I created a new
Html file in Microsoft Word and configured this document with the Html
format. When File New option is selected Netscape is launched with the
template file.

The problem occurs when the customer is using Microsoft Word. If he
creates a new document and chooses to save the document to the file
cabinet and selects HyperText Markup Language (HTML) (*.htm) as the
format, he receives the following message:

 There is currently no registered TeamLinks format tag for this
 format.  Please contact you administrator.
 The document will be tagged as Binary. Do you wish to continue
 saving it?

Another problem occurs when the customer chooses 'File New' from
within Microsoft Word and selects Html as the template for the new
document. When he chooses to save the document he is not given the
option to save it to the TeamLinks File Cabinet - is this due to the
incompatibility between TL integration macros and Internet Assistant?

The settings in TLFORMAT.INI are:

[MIME Content-Types]

text/html=HTML

[HTML]
Desc=HyperText Markup Language
FileExt=HTM
IOSFileExt=HTM
Asn1=2B020877305018202
MIMEContentType=text/html; name="TL.htm"; Type=%%peg%%
PegasusType=Html
Synonym=W4W108
BitmapInfo=C:\TEAMLINK\TLFCBMP.DLL,HTM
Template=Test.htm
IsText=0

The Synonym settings in TLCVTVU.INI are:

[PWP-TL]
W4W108=HTML

[W4W108]
W4W108=HTML level 1,DOC,8,8,8,3,1
MASTERSOFT=1,3,W$W108

Since my last note the customer has upgraded to TeamLinks V2.7 EC02.
In essence the customer wants to be able to save an Html document
directly to the file cabinet.

Many Thanks,

Emer

It sounds like the TL integration for Word 6.0 might not be
expecting HTML. TL 2.7 itself does have some support for HTML,
it has the tag and viewers.

I will ask Al to look at this. MS Internate Assistant and
TL's Word integration don't get along very well.

I guess I'm not very surprised that setting up a TL template file
for HTML will only cause Infoman to startup Netscape. Netscape is
after all the application that has registered itself on the PC as the
one to handle HTML.
