| Debbie,
Those error messages would be very helpful and our Printing guru,
Jerry Cummings, is out today so I trust we can get the answer tomorrow.
If you change the associate to another application then does the shared
install configuration works ok? Is this W95, NT, or W3.x? Can you
print a saved mail message with that associate ok from explorer?
Is the file still in the staging area after the print fails? If so
can you print it ok from JetForms?

2175.2 | Update to JetForms issue | AIMTEC::GIANNETTI_D | | Mon May 12 1997 10:53 | 16 |
| Peter,
There are no error messages. When printing from JetForms that was
launched from TeamLinks (installed locally) the customer receives
messages that JetForms is printing first page, second page, etc.
If he has the same document on a PC that is printing from JetForms
that was launched by TeamLinks (installed client/server) the customer
does not receive any error message but it just sits there.
I had him fax me his OFFICE.INI and I could not find anything specific
that looked strange.
Any ideas?

| What operating system?
My first guess would be a difference in NonTextPrinting.
My second guess would be a difference in how JetForms is registered
with Windows to Shell for opening and print documents. Could you have
the customer compare Windows associations for that file type on the
sytems that work and don't work?

2175.4 | Update on JetForms Printing issue | AIMTEC::GIANNETTI_D | | Wed May 21 1997 14:57 | 9 |
| Jerry,
The NonTextPrinting field made no difference. The
properties/attributes for the JetForms application in both
scenarios were the same.
Any more ideas?

| If a JetForm file is sitting in a local directory on a hard disk and
the user selects it with Explorer/File Manager and then chooses Print
from Explorer's/File Manager's File menu, does it print?

2175.6 | Update to this problem, please respond soon | ALFSS2::GIANNETTI_D | | Thu May 29 1997 18:18 | 21 |
| Customer did the following:
1. From the PC that has TeamLinks installed client/server, he
printed a Jetforms file from the File Manager - works fine.
2. Had him install TeamLinks locally on ONE of the PC's that
was running TeamLinks in client/server mode, then print
JetForms file - worked fine
3. Reinstalled client/server on PC from number 2 - didn't print
4. Customer modified the properties in Windows 3.1 for TeamLinks
on the client/server PC to have a Working directory of
C:\TeamLink instead of H:\TeamLink, printed JetForms file
worked fine. When TeamLinks is installed, however, that
working directory value is set to the server
Should he permanently make the change for the Working directory or
will that change negatively affect some other scenario?

| No, I would be afraid to change how TeamLinks was
installed.
By the way, why do they have a TeamLinks association
for this application? Sounds like they should remove that
association from TeamLinks and just use the Windows
association.

| Jerry,
I am working with the customer on this one. I have asked him to
remove the association to see if this makes a difference.

2175.9 | Removed association, rebooted, still no print | 34075::GIANNETTI_D | | Thu Jun 05 1997 16:58 | 14 |
| Jerry,
Removed the association. Made sure the "double click" action was to
launch first. Rebooted PC completely. He double clicked on a
JetForms document, it launched the application, chose to print, it
comes up with menu to select the printer, choose to print click OK
It comes back like it had printed (but does not give update on pages
that have printed). It never prints.
I am getting frustrated on this one.
Help!
