2168.2 | customize? | GIDDAY::BACOT | | Sun May 04 1997 20:16 | 14 |

Rick,
Sorry, I should have been more specific. Is there a way to
customize the BCC option off of the Message Addressing screen that
you get to when you hit the TO button on Create Message screen?
The customer doesn't want the users to be able to send BCCs.
Thanks,
angela

further to see if it can be done. I really don't
think it is possible.

2168.6 | any way to disable it? | GIDDAY::BACOT | | Mon May 12 1997 20:41 | 14 |
|
Hello again,
I spoke with the customer (our friends at HSH) and the reason they
are concerned about BCC is that unlike the forward option that gives
you an opportunity to add a cover note, the BCC option doesn't.
So the recepient of the BCC just gets a copy of the mail with no
explanation. If it can't be removed from the window is there any way
to disable it?
Regards,
Angela

2168.7 | Can not turn off BCC's | A1WS2::MANANA::Palmer | | Tue May 13 1997 14:26 | 10 |
| Angela,
BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) is a functional implementation that
allows a user to send a message addressed to multilple TO:'s
and CC:'s and them not know who the BCC's it was sent to. That is
it, the customer can use BCC's or not use BCC's but it is not possilbe
to turn the functionality off or add personal notes to the BCC
recipients.

2168.8 | thanks again | GIDDAY::BACOT | | Thu May 15 1997 02:18 | 16 |

Rick,
I explained the BCC functionality to the customer and suggested that
it is more of a cultural issue of whether to use it or not
They insisted that we pursue the issue with regards to customizing the
screen or 'disabling' the functionality altogether.
They would like to have a way to remove or modify the BCC functionality.
I told them I would pass the suggestion on to engineering for consideration.
Thank you for your help,
Angela
