| Angela,
I'm not sure I know what the problem is. This is what I know about
Freelance.
PRE was the file extension used by Freelance 1.0 and 2.0.
PRZ is the file exentsion used by Freelance 96 and 97. Actually it is
only one of 4 or 5 new file types that Freelance can save, but it's the
main one.
Older versions of Freelance files, the ones that use the PRE file
extension, are tagged FLPRESENTWIN in the FC. When fetched they are
given an extension of PRE. PRE is a synonym tag in TL, just pointing
to the FLPRESENTWIN tag.
Newer versions of Freelance files (96/97), the ones that use the PRZ
file extension, get tagged as PRZ in the FC. We now use file extensions
for format tags where ever possible. When fetched to DOS they are
given the PRZ file extension because that's what the app expects.
The new PRZ tag/extension is helpfull because I don't think we can
auto-detect the newer Freelance files. (I might be wrong on that
I didn't check).
So PRE (FLPRESENTWIN) files are different from PRZ files. There is
no FC integration with Freelance (except Freelance 97 has ODMA support
- more on that in a minute). TL Infoman's File New and File Launch is
the only integration we have. TL 2.7 ships with FLPRESENTWIN and PRZ
templates for File New.
If you Launch a TLPRESENTWIN (PRE) file using Freelance 96 or 97, then
you should save the file back in the older format or you will have a
mis-tagged document in the FC. This is true of lots of apps that we
integrate only with Infoman Launch. If the file is saved back in the
newer format, then use File Attributes to tag it PRZ.
Freelance has an ODMA integration in it, but it doesn't work very
well with TeamLinks 2.7 or 3.0. I have 7 PTRs on it which I've sent
to Lotus. I don't think I ever tested it with Infoman's launch and
I didn't test it to see what happens via ODMA when older formats are
opened and saved in the new format.
HTH,
Bob
