Hello,
Must I post a wish to this problem :
From Teamlinks, create mail,
attach file from pathworks V.5 file server.
If this file has a long name, it is displayed on windows of file
attachement, but when we click on attach there is a error message windows:
filenameofthisfile.rtf
"This filename has too many letters" (traduction of french message "ce nom
de fichier a trop de lettres)
Or if there is blanck characters in the name, "this filename is not valid"
(traduction of french message "ce nom de fichier n'est pas valide")
Is it a known problem ?
Thanks,
Sylvie.

| TeamLinks is still a 6-bit app and does not
handle Win95-style long filenames.

| Ok, but this problem occured only if the file is on remote/file service
pathworks. There is no problem with c:\local name.doc or via other
network type like NetBEUI.
Is there a workaround to replace long word by ~ ?
I suppose I will QARed.
Thanks,
Sylvie.

2157.3 | It might be a PW restriction or problem. | XANADU::cascobay.zko.dec.com::TAMARA::STJEAN | Bob St.Jean | Mon May 12 1997 18:03 | 6 |
| I think I looked at this a long time ago. Pathworks doesn't seem
to return 8.3 names when called by the 16-bit MS Common File Open/Save
dialog.
