| Jim,
Sounds like your customizations got lost/nuked, post or mail me the
office.ini and tlcustom.ini files or try the following
Start up Teamlinks Setup. Double click on the Menu Editor.
Under Menu; select Services.
Under Available Items; select -(Separator) and hit the Add button.
From the Dialog Menu do a File->Save or just CNTRL+S.
Now open up office.ini and search for the [MENUS] section, the first line
should start like this.
IM_Serv=- IMSrvConnect TLClearPwds............
add " IMSrvDisconnect " so the beginning of the line looks like this.
IM_Serv= IMSrvDisconnect - IMSrvConnect TLClearPwds.........
Close office.ini saving the change you just made. !Note the spacing between
IMSrvDisconnect and the "-"!
Back in the Menu Editor select services again and "File Cabinet Disconnect"
should appear in the Menu Items: list box.
Select File Cabinet Disconnect and then go to Command->Edit.
The New Command dialog box will pop up (If you want an Icon associated with
this command hit "Change Icon" and find one to your liking)
Click on the "Advanced" button
In the "Run After Success" selection box select "Set Offline Mode".
Hit Ok.
Hit OK.
There should be a File Cabinet Disconnect in the Available Items list box.
In the Menu Items list box select "File Cabinet Disconnect" and hit the
<<Remove<< button.
In the Available Items list select "File Cabinet Disconnect" and hit the
>>Add>> button.
Now save it and close the dialog box.
Start up TeamLinks; Under the Services Menu there will be a "File Cabinet
Disconnect" which when selected will disconnect and put you in offline
mode. If you defined a bitmap then you will be able to go into Customize
Button Bar and add it to your button bar.

2106.3 | That's not quite how it used to work. | CXOSI::58seo.seo.dec.com::cxosi.cxo.dec.com::baschal | | Mon Apr 07 1997 16:52 | 33 |
| Mike,
Thanks for the info. I'm sure I lost something in the process of
reinstalling Teamlinks. I actually reinstalled windows and lost
any custimizations which were in the windows directory. However,
I don't remember changing anything for this setting in my previous
install. But then again, that was last summer and so I'm sure I
could have easily forgotten a change I made.
I certainly can add a separate menu item/button to disconnect, but
that is not how it used to work.
When I connect, the "File Cabinet Connect..." menu item becomes
"File Cabinet Disconnect..." and the corresponding "File Cabinet
Connect..." button becomes a "File Cabinet Disconnect..." button.
I cannot find where the "File Cabinet Disconnect..." menu item/
button are defined. The "Connect" menu item/button are changed
to "Disconnect" under program control and the "Disconnect" menu
item/button do not seem to be defined in any menu definition.
If it is possible to restore the original functionality, I would
appreciate it. If not, I can live with it either the way it is,
or with a separate "Disconnect" menu item/button.
By the way, as I just indicated, I previously installed it last
summer and I think it might have been a field test version. It
did say "For Digital Internal Use Only" on the splash page.
If you need my ini files, I will be happy to send them to you.
Thanks,
Jim

2106.4 | I couldn't find it. | XANADU::cascobay.zko.dec.com::TAMARA::STJEAN | Bob St.Jean | Mon Apr 07 1997 17:05 | 10 |
| This might have been a feature/option that Jim Emmond put into
Infoman. It would put TL in offline mode when FC Disconnect was
used. I don't know which Office.ini profile entry controls it.
Last week I looked thru the Source Control Tracking notes files
for 2.7 and 2.5 and I couldn't find it. Maybe someone who has
all the VB sources for Infoman can look in the code and find it.

In 2.7 the way some menu commands were processed changed and it looks like
this was negative side effect. Since it is a loss functionality
you should PTR it, that way there might be a chance of getting it fixed in
3.0. But for now you have to define a seperate command/menu item.

2106.6 | It used to work with 2.7 | CXOSI::58seo.seo.dec.com::cxosi.cxo.dec.com::baschal | | Wed Apr 16 1997 14:26 | 15 |
| Actually, since last summer, I have been using Teamlinks
version 2.7. In both cases, I downloaded the latest Teamlinks
Office kit. The first time was last summer and the other time
was a couple of weeks ago.
Until I reinstalled, "Disconnect" didn't leave you in online
mode. Now that I think about it, it could be that "Connect"
used to not put you in on-line mode and that "Disconnect"
actually hasn't changed. I didn't pay that close of attention,
before and don't remember.
Any thoughts?

| Connect has always put you in Online mode. It's how the Disconnect menu
items/commands changed that's causing your problem.
