I've been using TeamLinks 2.7 happily and successfully on my Windows NT Server 4.0 SP2 system for months (in fact, since 16-Aug-1996 according to my note 1504.2). Last week I did a complete reinstall of Windows NT workstation SP2 with the Alpha RPC hotfix. Everything went fine, and I ended up with a completely new Windows NT installation on a different disk with a new registry, so there aren't any bits and pieces hanging on from the previous installation. Yesterday I tried to install TL 2.7 again. I ran SETUP.EXE, the blue window started to appear, and then I got an Application Error: TLINSTAL caused a General Protection Fault in module MSCOMSTF.DLL at 000E:0010. Choose close. TLINSTAL will close. This is completely reproducible. Why is TL failing to install now, when I was using it on my old Windows NT installation? Are there any workarounds? PJDM

(An interesting question: I wonder why you'd ask that. 8-) I was installing from a network share on another Windows NT system. I copied the kit to a local disk, and it worked perfectly. (I actually installed T3.0 EFT1. It seems to work fine so far. I'm even completely amazed that it lets me get to my Exchange mailbox as well as my ALL-IN-1 mailbox.) PJDM |
