2065.0. "File Cabinet Extract Tool?" by COPCLU::TRIER (Jens Trier Rasmussen @ DMO 857-2264) Sat Mar 15 1997 08:04

Hi,

I'm looking for a tool which can take the content of a TeamLinks File Cabinet
(local, MailWorks or ALL-IN-1) and transfer it to a NT File System preserving
the structure (folders -> directory) and the naming of the documents. Anyone
knows of such a tool?

I know you can do Exports, but that'll take time :-) It should be
automatically.

best regards
	Jens

I don't know of anything. It might be worth checking the
TeamLinks SDK or possibly checking with Ian McMichael
who works on a service/product for reading filecabs (ALL-IN-1
at least) and moving things to Exchange.

Perhaps someone else will know.

2065.2Difficult in 16-bit applicationsflask2.reo.dec.com::rasmodem16.reo.dec.com::MCMICHAELA Cunning Plan...Tue Mar 18 1997 07:2812
I've already spoken to Jens about this one. As a 16-bit application (which
ExchangeLink is at present) it's quite hard to write long file names to a
32-bit file system.

I am willing to give it a go using either "thunking" (least preferred) or
by calling a 32-bit module from a 16-bit control program to do the work and
passing it a parameter file. However, I have a huge back-log of work at
the moment and no funding to work on this... :-(
