2058.1 | Reading messages in Infoman has no impact on New Mail Notification window | XANADU::qwert.zko.dec.com::mcclung | John McClung, 381-2774 | Thu Mar 13 1997 13:16 | 16 |
| Gerald,
The New Mail Notification application is updated when messages arrive from the
server. TeamLinks (Infoman) does not even need to be running. Nothing you do in
Infoman (such as reading new messages) has any impact on the New Mail
Notification app.
To clear the the window, you can simply press the OK button.

| John,
I accept that this is not a bug as such in TeamLinks, BUT it is a useability
problem (or if you like a "Human factors" or an "ergonomics" problem).
Its more annoying than anything else!

| Gerald,
I see your point about wanting New Mail Notification to clear itself
after checking for new mail from TeamLinks. But some users would prefer it to
not do this. Perhaps it could be optional.
This is related to several other suggested improvements to how New Mail
Notification and TeamLinks/Infoman relate to each other. Please enter a PTR if
it's important to you.
Thanks,
John
