User running TeamLinks 2.7 on Windows 95 had a problem this morning between 700-730 (lower usage than prime time). In two separate instances he got the hour glass for over 2 minutes. The first occurance he was trying to bring up the reply window and he eventually did the ctrl-alt-del and tried to end the TeamLinks Information Manager task. TeamLinks is busy performing the last task you requested and wouldn't let him do anything. He tried it again and now the TeamLinks Information Manager was not responding and he could end the task. The second time he was opening a folder and eventually the folder opened. Note this folder contains 10 items in it. This is not a local folder it is on the server. No other users let us know of any problems during this time period. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any ideas as to what is going on? Any other things we can look at when something like this occurs? Appreciating any responses.

2004.1 | These can be very hard to figure out. | XANADU::cascobay.zko.dec.com::TAMARA::STJEAN | Bob St.Jean | Thu Feb 20 1997 14:37 | 12 |
Is TL running locally on the PC or from a remote server? The first invocation of the Create Message window can be a bit slow because it has to load and initialize the Rich Text Editor control. But normally it's only a 2 or 3 extra seconds. What type of server FC is involved? Was any other heavy load on the server or network at the time? Bob | |||||

>>> Is TL running locally on the PC or from a remote server? >>> What type of server FC is involved? TeamLinks 2.7 client locally on PC. Remote server is DEC Mailworks 1.3A-3. >>> Was any other heavy load on the server or network at the time? The server was checked and there didn't seem to be a heavy load at the time of these occurences. There did not seem to be anything unusual happening on the network either. |
