1996.0. "Error message displaying Create Message window" by XANADU::trcker.zko.dec.com::XANADU::OUELLETTE () Tue Feb 18 1997 10:25

(This note submitted for Andy Joyce who was having network problems trying
to submit it himself.)

    TeamLinks V2.7
    Windows for Workgroups V3.11

A user gets a dialog box displayed (four times) between clicking
on the Create Message button and the Create Message Window being
displayed. The dialog has the title "TX" and displays the following
    error message...

"The designated text area is too small for the new format settings".

Once the Create Message window is displayed, the user can enter details
in the To:, CC:, BCC: and Subject: fields but not in the Text box. The
user is using the standard Text cover memo style.

One clue... the user was away last week and someone else (anonymous)
used her PC (but NOT Teamlinks) and appears to have changed some of the
Program Group sizes etc. The "TX" error has only occurred since then.

    Any ideas?

    Andy

    Hi Folks,

It turns out that the default printer had been changed to
"Raw Printer Driver 3.0". When the user switched it back to
"Abobe" the problem was resolved. Apparently, this is a known
problem in the "TX" software (logged as Bug number 11-3-954 in our
new corporate PTR system by Carson Hovey).
