1983.0. "DDS lookup problem with (a) and pretty name" by SIOG::16.60.80.119::dub03.dbo.dec.com::McCorry (Tenors get women by the score) Tue Feb 11 1997 14:17

Hi

I have a problem on a customer site as described below.

Software products and versions are:

	TeamLinks V2.7
	ALL-IN-1 V3.2
	DDS V3.3-313

The customer has two address entries in DDS, thus:

Mike McKenna,
1=us@2=admd@3=ca.gov@5=lc@4=lcmw1@*\common=mike mckenna
and,
Mike Zawilski,
1=us@2=admd@3=ca.gov@5=asm@4=lcex1@*\rfc-822=mike.zawilski(a)lc.ca.gov

Doing an address lookup to DDS from an ALL-IN-1 VT client yields normal
and expected results, the Pretty Name is displayed at the To: prompt on
the message for both of the address types above.

However, when TeamLinks is used as the client the behaviour is different.

Looking up the first address, for Mike McKenna, yields normal results;
the Pretty Name is displayed in TeamLinks To: box. But for the other
address, Mike Zawilski, the Pretty Name is not displayed, and only
the actual "technical address" is displayed.

Are the parentheses that replace the '@' sign causing the problem here,
with the algorithm that works out how to display the address information?

Any help is appreciated.

Kieran

Hi,

	Would it be possible to enter what you get back
from the vt client and what you get back from TeamLinks
exactly.

Cheers,
