1975.0. "TEAMLINK for WinNT" by HGOM30::THANHSON () Sun Feb 02 1997 04:31

    Hi,
        I have a ALPHA XL 266 with WinNT for Workstation v4.0 running. I
    did install Pathwork for WinNT on this machine and it is working
    properly ( I have used SETHOST.EXE to connect to HGOM30 OK). Now, I
    need to install TEAMLINK on this machine, but I do not know if we have
    a TEAMLINK version for WinNT or not. If any one can help me to find out
    required version of TEAMLINK to meet the requirement.

        Thanks in advance.

    Son.

The product name is TeamLinks, not TEAMLINK. :-)

There is just one version of TeamLinks right now, a 16-bit version that
runs and is supported on a number of platforms, including Windows NT (though
I don't know offhand whether there are any issues with running on Alpha).

Kit information is in topic 8 of this conference. Give it a try...

1975.2TL V2.7 ON AN ALPHA MACHINEVMSNET::P_BUNGARDB^) Mon Feb 03 1997 17:1218

    Since you have NT v4.0 on an Alpha, you will need FX!32 from
    DEC installed before you can install Teamlins.

    If you install v2.7 of Teamlinks Office for Win95, it will work
    on Intel platforms running NT v.40, and on Alpha platforms
    running NT v4.0.

    FX!32 requires NT 4.0 By the way, there is a Service Pak 1 and 2
    for NT 4.0. Install the Service Pak 1 but hold off on Pak 2.
    Seems there are some "issues" with it.

    Someone else named Dan, who works here at the Atlanta Support Center
    will probably be adding more info to this as soon as
    he finises his own install and makes sure everything works OK
    Dan will have the final word on this.

1975.3FX!32 won't do a thing for TeamLinks...yet!FLASK2::16.39.192.191::MCMICHAELA Cunning Plan...Tue Feb 04 1997 05:0910
FX!32 Translates Intel Win32 calls to Alpha code.

As there is no 32-bit code in TeamLinks at present FX!32 won't make a scrap
of difference. Microsoft supply an emulator in NT 3.51 and 4.0 which runs
16-bit Intel applications on Alphas by emulating the Intel instruction set.
 This is shipped and installed by default.

    Your'r right Nina, I have never heard such crap before. Needing FX!32
    to run a 16 bit app under WindowsNT-Alpha

    However it is important to notice that only TCP/IP over WinSock is the
    protocol available.
