| If by 2.7 Internal you mean something besides the SSB version (or now
ECO1)you need to upgrade. What version of Word are you using? What flavor
of Windows? Is the app integration installed?

| As of 3/13/97 an update to note 1969.0
We here at the Atlanta CSC are still experiencing this problem.
When attempting to save a WORD 7 document with it integrated on
a Windows 95 system with Teamlinks v2.7-1, we still get the error:
"Dos File cannot be opened
The Dos file name is invalid, does not exist or access to the file
is not permitted, or the file is in use (locked) by other applications."
We have reinstalled Word and Teamlinks, but still get error.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
CHFarmer

| Hi,
I have not seen this problem before. To get this resolve sooner,
can you post a DTN so I can call you to debug the problem?

Reply to CSC,
I tried the TLWW*.* files that you copies into the [decnet] account, but
they all worked for me. This could mean that there is something on
that particular system which is causing the error.
Get me a call and we can go through a debug session to try and narrow
down the cause of the problem.

1969.8 | Explorer setting was the problem | OASS::ANDRES_B | | Fri Mar 28 1997 10:47 | 10 |
| Al and I worked on this problem this morning on my problem PC.
When saving a file from Word with TeamLinks integrated I was
getting the Invalid Dos file name error.
In setting that was causing the error was in Explorer. From
Windows Explorer select View Options. The option Hide MS-DOS
file extensions for file types that are registered was selected.
Once this was deselected the error no longer occurred.

1969.9 | 2nd time this bug has happened. | XANADU::cascobay.zko.dec.com::TAMARA::STJEAN | Bob St.Jean | Tue Apr 01 1997 19:22 | 16 |
| This is a bug in Word 95 that really stumped Tom Quigley while
he was porting the TL integration. He said he reported it to
MS, and apparently they still have not fixed it.
Al was going to look to see if the TL integration can somehow
work around this bug.
Beth, maybe you should enter a PTR so it doesn't get forgotten.
If this isn't fixed, then it should at least be documented in
the release notes for the TL app integrations (TL_INT.TXT). Maybe
Al or one of the documentation people can make a note to update
the file with this info.
