I have a customer with TLV2.7 that sends Harvard Graphic attachments. When received and read by launching product first she gets, error in staging area read only, file locked by another user. However, if she tries to select to view first, it responds with there is not a viewer for Harvard Graphics, it then launches the product and the attachment can be read without any errors. If this has been heard of, is there a possible solution? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. chfarmer [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

I have seen this before, I think. I don't think Harvard Graphics
will allow you to open a file Read Only. You can test this by
saving a Harvard Graphics file to dos, change the attributes
of the DOS file to Read Only. Then I think you will get the same
problem without TeamLinks.
Since attachments have Read Only attributes there is not really a
work around unless Harvard will allow documents to be opened read
only.

Beth is correct. This is a known problem with Harvard Graphics. We found this with a customer and asked the customer to report it to the vendor. I don't know if it was ever reported or not, nor to I know if Harvard can or will fix it. It's makes it hard to use HG with TL. Bob | |||||
