Just wanted to reply to this note because I did investigate this
problem and was able to reproduce it. Don't think it's a language
specific problem.
When you click on the address it does call TeamLinks Simple MAPI
MAPISendMail. You send in a recipient structure to this call. That
structure contains a Name and Address field. IE is sending the address
as a Name. TeamLinks Simple MAPI then tries to resolve this name
and it fails, thus the error that you see. So we now understand the
problem. Hopefully this will be fixed for the next version.

1706.10 | Very useful! | ATZIS2::EHRLICH_K | Never met a Lady like her before! | Tue Feb 25 1997 05:52 | 11 |
| Dear Helen,
many thanks for your late but very useful information.
This is really important to know. Funny, that it sometimes
worked (works) pretty fine. Seems, that IE handles the mailaddresses
in different ways.
Great, that this will be fixed.
Cheers

1706.11 | MS bug. Digital gets blamed. Digital must work-around it. ;-) | XANADU::cascobay.zko.dec.com::TAMARA::STJEAN | Bob St.Jean | Fri Feb 28 1997 10:34 | 10 |

Isn't this a bug in MS IE? Is that allowed in SMAPI? Why do we
always have to program around their bugs?!

1706.12 | Some cases can work | MANANA::PRINCIPIO | | Mon Mar 10 1997 10:51 | 22 |

Well, I started looking into fixing this problem and there is still a
case that won't work, but you can probably get this to work most of
the time.
If you are using MailWorks or ALL-IN-1 as your primary file cabinet
and you send mail to an internet address you probably have to do
something to the address, that is something like [email protected]
won't work as is. We add a suffix @internet which then gets translated
to something appropriate down the line, but without it the internet
addresses won't work. Well if that address ([email protected])
is what you clicked on in IE it will work if you have the Custom
Prefix/Suffix enabled in your Mail Profile/Addressing/Customize Addressing
window.
So, you can get that to work. The case that still won't work is
if you have a valid address in IE that would work from TeamLinks
as is. The routine that validates the address isn't working quite
right. We still need to fix that for the next release. However,
thought this might be useful information in the meantime.
