2175.0. "Information on a friend..." by OTOOA::MOWBRAY (This isn't a job its an Adventure) Fri Nov 04 1994 12:48
A close friend of mine left Newfoundland in early August to go to the
Carribean. Their plan was to hug the shore, not hurrry and do about a
year and a half down and back.
I last heard from them in October when they crossed from Nova Scotia
into the US although I am not sure what their point of entry was. It
occured to me that perhaps some of the readers of this fiel might run
accross the boat and could pass on a "Hi !" from me and also let me
know where the boat was.
Maybe this is sort of like the "Oh, your from the U.S., I know a person
who is a butcher in San Francisco" bit it doesn't hurt to try.
The boat is a Rival 34 (not quite as pretty as my R 32), called TORNGAT
(after the tallest mountain in Labrador). The Skipper's name is Duncan
Finlayson and his wife is Renee. Torngat is white with a blue boot-top
and trim line just below the deck, however her most unique identifier
is the tank-turret-like hard dodger that Duncan built over the cockpit.
Please keep an eye out for her in your travels.
Thanks
Graham
