I'm planning a spring trip to Thailand (south, want beach environment) and was considering chartering a boat for accomodations. Anyone done this? How is the cruising - is bareboat feasible? Specific recommendations about outfits (I've called SunSail)? Thanks, I'll post what I learn if there's interest.

I know Moorings also have an operation there. I have seen some videos and was in Thailand a few years ago although I did not sail. Even the Pirates are interesting. | |||||

Hello, we (my husband and I) are going to Thailand with sunsail in March. We don't know anything about it (just some nice pictures) and choosed to join a flottille. We will have a Oceanis 320 for us two and there will be a leading boat, with a mechanics on board. There are no good wheaterreports in english we've heard, there are no precise maps and most of the people do not speak english, so we think this will be a good compromise, although we allways went bareboot in the last years. The trip is about 10 days leading to the nicest islands south of thailand. Has anyone experience with flottillas in thailand, or anything else about the waters down there ? Thanks Bianca |
