Good-bye to all you sailing fans and good-luck in your endeavors on the
high seas and in your lives in general!

I've resigned from Digital to join my wife as co-pastors of two yoked
churches in North Central Wisconsin (Medford and Dorchester United
    Church of Christ Churches).

My last day of contact will be Nov 15th unless somebody grabs me for
greatly reduced hours as a UNIX consultant working from our parsonage.

I'vereally enjoyed the dialogue w/i this notefile and I've learned a
lot and met many, many nice people, I've enjoyed the tales and enjoyed
    adding my own.

Some of the highlights for me w/i here are my getting a little more
respect for the ocean primarily thru Alan Berens's conservative and
wise advice poured out for many, meeting Mike Thompson thru here who
thrn dared, although only ONCE :-) , to venture with us on a rhumb-line
to Bar Harbor, meeting JohnKalinowski who purchased our 26' Pearson and
who has really been enjoying her - don't know about enjoying all the
work his wife and he have put in to it -, meeting good buddy Fred
Darrow who invited us to share his vacation spot on Sommes Sound and
who since we have made other voyages, including escorting the tall
ships out of Boston Harbor (thanks, Fred!), for meeting some people
from the Dallas area who gave me advice on how to get the Yin Yang to
waters in TX and many, many more people and events from w/i this
    medium.

Oh Yeah; it also was from here that my wife and I found out about the
trip to the Bahammas as we vanned with about 15 people, Digital and
others, from our base camp at our home in Acton to Ft Lauderdale and
then to the four yachts as we sailed on off to Bimini. For all those
    people who suffered from my Capt Bligh-ness on the van trip back home;
hey, at least we made it w/o accidents.

Also, thru this notesfile I was recently (last month) asked to voyage
with Ashikin Wannoor(sic?) as she sailed from Hawaii to San Francisco.
Saying NO to this was almost impossible but it occurred during the
three weeks just before our dual Ordination back in RI and I really
couldn't leave my wife the job of doing all the planning and working
for that grand event. Sigh! (But we do get a three month sabbatical
after five years and our first letter addressed to us as Revs Ron & Dot
came from a fellow seminarian who is now fulltime chaplain of the USS
Forrestal(?) and is doing combat-ready duty protecting the once-called
Yugoslavia. Hmmm. I wonder where he'll be sailing from in five
years and if he'll be needing some chaplaincy rest or just added
    ministerial support.

    	Shalom to all of you!

    	Ron

Also would you please join "sailing" and post a note there for us that says
we're going to be ministers at Matinicus Island for the month of August and
would appreciate a "ride" to and from the island from anywhere off the coast
of Maine, New Hampshire. The shortest distance is from Rockland, ME but we
don't care (the longer the better :-) ) from where we leave from or where we
go to.

Please give the "sailing" note file our email address.
Shalom,

Ron
