2095.0. "Sailing clothes stores" by KETJE::STAES (No Errrors Detected) Mon Nov 01 1993 09:43

I will be at ZKO by the end of January and I would like to take the
opportunity to look around for a 'sailing suit' (I hope this is the right
name). What I'm looking for is a one or two piece waterproof suit, with
floating capacity (built-in life jacket), insulation, lifelinehooks, rain
cap, leg and arm straps, etc...

Do you know of any shops in the surroundings of Nashua or Boston who are
selling this type of equipment? I've been visiting some shopping malls in
the past but since I was not specifically looking for sailing equipment I
do not recall having seen any of them.

Any good addresses available? Also any idea of the prices?

Thanks,
Nand.

Lots of choices but none in the immediate Nashua Area. Places that
    come to mind are:

    	1) Marine Exchange in Peabody Ma.
    	2) West Marine in Peabody Ma.
    	3) Boat U.S. Waltham Ma.
    	4) Team One in Newport big selection but a long trip to Newport
R.I. But if you have never been to Newport it may be worth
the trip. OK, maybe not as nice in January as in June but still
    	   an interesting place to visit.
    	5) Marine Speculators in Salem (not sure this is the correct name).
They had great prices but I had to make several trips to find
the suit I wanted that also fit.

Thanks. No problem with a little trip to Salem and surroundings. Let's
hope these shops stay open during the winter season.

Thanks for the pointers,
Nand.

    Nand,

Marine Exchange, Boats/ US and West Marine definately stay open during the
off-season. Boats/ US and West are open evenings and weekends, Marine
Exchange is open at least Saturday. I don't know about the store in
    Newport.

Marine Speculator has moved across the bridge from Salem to Beverly,
and they have always been open on Saturdays. During the peak season
    they're open Sundays.
