2055.0. "Where to do sailing in Ireland?" by FROCKY::KREMPEL (Matias Krempel - SIC Finance GY) Thu Jul 08 1993 06:23

    I'm looking for an opportunity to do sailing in the first week in
    August somewhere in Ireland (preferably around Galway)

    Any hints ?

    Regards

    Matias

Tom Foot(e) is an ex-DECcie with a boat in Galway. He can probably give
you leads on charter opportunities. I think he might even charter his boat,
but I'm not 100% certain. I don't have his number, but you should be able
to get it from directory enquiries. There might even be a farewell note
from him in this notes file somewhere.

Alternatively, Glenans runs sailing courses in southern Ireland (around Cork,
I think) and you might be able to arrange something with them.

    That's right, see notesfile "WANLAD::Sailing_in_Europe" note 144.
    Tom used to charter his boat (and his cottage), don't know if he still
    does.

ALSO, if my aging memory still serves me, Tom has a son who works(ed) for DEC in
Ireland.

ELF has an ADRIAN FOOTE in Dublin. Might be he. Or at least some who might know.

2055.4Round the World Sail Crew WantedPOWDML::WOLFENDENTue Aug 10 1993 10:598
    I know of no one in Ireland looking for crew, but I do know of someone
    looking for crew to participate in a round-the-world sail. Doing part of
    the journey would be fine. They are going from Venezuela west to
    Galapagos, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Red Sea, Mediterranean,
    England, maybe North Sea, (Ireland?) down to Canaries and across.

    Call Beth Mog, his land contact and daughter, at (508) 651-8873 if you
    are interested.
