2002.0. "1993 RACE CREW WANTED" by BTOVT::HILTON_G (SYS-F-UNIVCRASH% REALITY.SYS Corrupted - Reboot Universe? (Y/N/Q) Tue Feb 23 1993 21:01

I am forming a racing team for the 1993 season.

We will be racing on a 40' hood with occasional races
on a J35. Both boats are very well equiped and competitive.

We will be racing on lake champlain starting in late April
and going on thru October. Most races will be during the
weekends. We are planning on racing in a few other events
in New England and MAryland using chartered boats.

I'm looking for people who can be availabe most weekends
thru the season. I can offer a place to stay in Burlington VT
    for those who need it.

A basic weekend might go like this.
Arrive friday night. Sleep on board or at my home.
SAturday AM race. SAturday evening crusie/party
SUnday AM race training or return from overnight cruise
    	depart sunday late afternoon.

If you have an interest please drop a repoy here or write
    	Georgia Hilton
    	BTOVT::HILTON_G

We will be fielding a team of 6 full time and 6 part time
crew. We need any and all positions.

    Helm
    Fore-Deck
    mid-deck
    cockpit
    tailers
    trimmers

If you would like to learn this will be a good chance. I'm
looking for dedicated types, experience is good but I'd rather
have 12 dedicated hard-working folk than 12 awesome crew who
    never show...

we are doing this for FUN and for BLOOD. IE: we intend to win
but have fun while kicking butt.

Put me on the list for part-time crew. I'd love to try but can't
commit to every weekend. I have my own boat (26ft) on Buzzards Bay,
and have sailed 35-40ft boats. My racing experience is limited to
19ft O'Day's, but I believe myself to be a pretty good helmsman on
the bigger boats I've been on (Can keep it pointing pretty high in
light air and tack on a dime). I've got average strength and good
stamina, good in the cockpit and would love to try the foredeck,
but that may take some work. Anyway,

                                             Willing and able,

I would like to be considered part time (driving from N.H. is a push).
My family has voted for a stink pot and I am now a boat driver at home,
so would like to do some serious sailing. If you need a part timer
    please call me - Bill Baker 603 672 4507 dtn 297 9260. I have raced
off and on over the last 25 years in boats from stars to one tons
including 5 blue water races. Sailing on fresh water would be new and
I am sure require some adjustments. I can work fore deck, mast, grind
and sewer. I enjoy sailing, don't get upset when things go wrong and
HATE TO LOSE. To date I have not hoisted a spinaker upside down
(actually watched a profession crew do this) and generally try to keep
sails set and drawing well. Good luch in your season
