Here's a novel tip for keeping your teak deck looking good. I've added
this as a new topic, because I couldn't find any discussion of wax
compounds in other notes on this subject.
I've been advised by the technical manager of Marine Trader
International (the importer of the boat I'm buying) to clean the teak
with the usual substances, such as bleach, and then to use a wax
compound called Wood Sheen by Minwax. Wipe it into the wood with grey
scotchwipe pads.
This is easy to touch up once or twice a season by simply washing and
then adding another coat or two. I may try this come spring and let you
know...
