I'm looking for a WantAd type of publication selling boats, and I heard
that there is one in New England called Soundings. Can anyone give me a
lead as to where I could obtain a copy?
I've been calling brokers in my area (New England), and am finding it
difficult to get a boat in my specification. All brokers seem to have
something that is too big, too small, too expensive, etc...! What I
would like to find is a listing with hundreds, or even thousands, of
boats to choose from.
Any other ideas?
Tally-ho,
Ray

Soundings is available at many book stores, newsstands, and marine stores. Call a few book stores and/or newstands in your area, and you'll probably locate one in short order. I found one by that method on the 2nd phone call. If you're in a coastal area, try marinas and marine stores. There is also a magazine called Offshore that has sailboats classifieds, but this magazine is increasingly oriented toward power boats and the sail classifieds have been shrinking. The WantAd itself has quite a few boat listings, although they tend toward smaller boats. --RS

Soundings is carried at a number of marine stores and a few book stores. Your might also try "For sale by owner" I believe they advertise in some of the magazines.

How would one get hold of a copy of the "Used Boat Price Guide"?

It might help to know what you are looking for... I have a late model
Soverel 33 (Tartan built) for sale. but this is not for everybody.
Think "light air turbo charged speedster with Tartan interior"
(strange)
