1923.0. "finally: a floating winch handle" by POWDML::SPENCER_J (Commuter from the Other Cape) Thu Sep 03 1992 15:15
The following is copied w/o permission from Multihulls Magazine:
THE WINCH HANDLE THAT FLOATS
One of the simplest, smartly thought-out products released this year is
the Titan Winch Handle. With this world-first handle, made of high
tech composites, there is no need to lose money overboard any longer.
This super-strong primary winch handle, imported from Australia, is an
original application of the new plastics technology for the yachtman's
benefit. It is as strong as its metallic counterparts, and is very
attractive in streamlined red or green. It is non-corrosive and
competitively priced. It will, when dropped overboard, continue to
float in any weather condition, until you have time to scoop it from
the water.
The floating winch handle is the first of a number of innovative
products being developed by Titan's dynamic Australian design team
with a suggested retail price of $39.95 per handle. For more details,
