| Windjammer Cruises sails tall ships in the Carribean. Some of their cruises
have a dive instructor on board. The ships typically sail to the next island
overnight, and you then have most of the day to explore the island (or go
diving.)
Most travel agencies should be able to help you with information and bookings.

| Call Ed Hamilton (see other chartering notes for info). His schtick is
matching particular needs/interests with appropriate boats. Undoubtedly
there's some charter skipper in any warm cruisable body of water you might
choose who loves to dive, and would tailor a cruise to your whims.

| My car mechanic just did a diving/sailing trip to the Bahamas. (i
think i pay him too much :-))
Call Tom at 508/365-6161 and ask him what outfit he used. BTW, he found
out about it through a diving mag, i think.
Also, Inland Divers in Leicester, MA occasionaly does these trips. Try
them.

1838.4 | Try Barefoot Cruises out of Miami, FL | EPS::KAUFMAN | | Wed Mar 11 1992 16:22 | 13 |
| There is also a company called Barefoot Cruises out of Miami that sails
a number of different sized boats. Last time I checked they had one
36' and two 45's. Typically, people will fly into Miami on a Friday,
board the boat, and then the captain and crew will sail the boat
overnight to a great diving spot. You'll dive all day, and then all of
the boats meet up, raft up, and party like mad. The process then
repeats itself.
Usually, there are six to eight guests per boat, some singles and some
couples. I don't happen to have their number handy, but if you pick up
a copy of Skin Diver magazine - these people always advertise in the
back in the travel section. Their prices were VERY reasonable.

| A few years back I did just the sailing/diving vacation you are
describing (two years in a row) out of Belize. The outfit there
was Sail Belize. We sailed on an Irwin 52 equiped with compressor,
and crewed by captain/divemaster and cook. The barrier reef off
Belize is one of the most varied, wanderful and secluded sailing/
diving grounds in the Northern Hemisphere. Highly recommended.
Both times we put together a party of six, just perfect for the
boat. I seem to recall $ 3,000 per week. There are other outfits
in Belize with one or two sailboats, smaller too operating out
of San Pedro, but I dont remember the name.

1838.6 | Blackbeard's Sail/Dive Cruises | CAPNET::RONDINA | | Tue Mar 24 1992 10:03 | 6 |
| I just got a brochure from Blackbeard's Sail/Dive Cruises. Basically
you fly to Miami and then can do a weekend, 7 day or 9 day cruise.
Their phone number is 1-800 327 9600. From the brochure it looks like
they provide prit'near everything. The boats are 65' that take parties
up to 22 persons. They sail to the Bahamas.
