Well, we stepped out of our 16' day sailer and bought a beautiful, very equipped Catalina 22'. We have moored it in Long Lake in Naples Main for the first part of the summer as we frequent the area including a cottage rental in July. I'd like some advise where we could move it to the ocean for the latter part of summer. Living in the Fitchburg area, Boston is the closest to the ocean with the North shore next closest. Southern Maine would not be that far away either. We have contemplated having it in reach of the Vineyard also. Our mooring in Maine is free, and I have not adjusted to paying such high prices for a place in the water. Given our use would be every other weekend or so, I have contemplated trailering it out of the water after weekend use and leaving it in some secure boat yard. A marina in Maine would accommodate us in this type of storage for $50/month. The trade-off is you have to launch it every time, although the boat would still be all set up. Any suggestions on places, rates etc. I can imagine there should be some bargains on moorings in August in this economy; maybe even time sharing a mooring.

I know of a mooring in Padanaram, near New Bedford, that can be had for $400 fro the summer. The sailing ground is great (right across from the Elizabeth Islands), and easy reach to the Vinyard. Give me a call and I'll give you the specifics. I can be reached on dtn 224-1647. Beau |
