I while back I saw an ad for pc software to assist in preparing for the 6 pack Captains license... but I haven't seen it since. I see the ads for Sea School but they are a bit pricy. Does anyone have any leads on good study guides for the license (sample questions etc.) thanks in advance. Bob

Several of us just did the Houston Marine program- including a lecturer. They also sell videotapes, disks, books, whatever you want to buy. The guy who ran the class was Doug Richmond, who runs their eastern Mass. office, up in Beverly. His # is 508-921-1705. Check the options- I took 100 ton, near coastal, sailing, and towing options. The tests were just a little tougher than th 6-pack, I was told, and the training was about the same price. Good Luck! Scott.

1720.3 | 360 Days at Sea Experience Req. | MEMORY::LAZGIN | Thu May 23 1991 18:23 | 9
I believe in addition to the written test, the license requires you log 360 Days at Sea. A day is registered each time you sail. Considering you may get 30-50 days a year.... Frank |
