1545.0. "boat launches at NH beaches?" by EXIT26::HUGHSON () Fri Jun 29 1990 14:02

    We are planning on using our new 16 ft. Hobie Cat this Sunday
    on the ocean, and I was wondering if anyone out there knows
    if there is a boat launch available at Salisbury, Hampton,
    or Seabrook to put the boat in???

    Also beaches near the boat launch??

    I know it is short notice, but any information would be
    appreciated!!!!  Please respond to EXIT26::HUGHSON.

    Thanks in advance!!

    I'm not sure about this, but I believe I have observed on my
    regular trips out the Merrimack River a ramp on the Salisbury side
    just before the breakwater. This is connected to the beach in
    Salisbury that you need to pay to get in, and associated, I think
    with a campground there. You will need to sail out the mouth
    from this point, and if the wind is light, your ability to do this
    may be subject to tides. You can also sail on the inside of Plum
    Island from this point, across the Joppa Flats, since the Hobie
    draws very little. This is popular with small boats and windsurfers.

    If you decide to sail there, first check with someone to see that I'm
    correct about the ramp. Then, be careful. The Merrimack Mouth can
    be very bad against the tide....and ocean swells can become breakers.
    But the good news is you can sail inside if its bad.

    Good luck
