1510.0. "daysailing crew needed" by LEDS::HUNT (Larry Hunt) Fri May 18 1990 14:23

I'll occasionally be needing crew for daysailing on Boston Harbor this
summer. I'd like to get a list of some potential crew that I can call
at times.

It would mainly be sailing on weekends. It is sailing on Solings out of
the Boston Harbor Sailing Club. The boat is a 27' olympic class keel boat
which draws 4.5 ft. Freeboard is about 2 ft. Be forewarned, these boats have
no motor and no head. It can also be a wet sail depending on conditions.
It's still a lot of fun in spite of the above. The boat carries a main, a jib
and a spinnaker (if you've got experience flying a chute, we can take it too).
I usually head out about 11:00 am and return about 5:00.

If your interested, send me some mail. Include your availability and a BRIEF
description on your sailing experience just to give me a general idea as
to what your experience is. Then maybe we can hook up for a sail at some
point during the summer.

1510.1A Love For SailingCARTUN::BROWNEMon Jul 30 1990 20:1012
Your note in the NOTES file interested me. I have sailing experience
on a 19' Flying Scot day sailor of holding down the jib sheet and
some experience with the spinnaker. I love to sail but have not done
any for several years. I have sailed around the Boston Harbor area
along with Marblehead and Harwichport participating in regattas. If
you are still interested in crew, you can contact me via VAXmail
CARTUN::BROWNE. I have also sailed (passenger only) on 37' Islander
to P'town several times and also on a 32' Pearson in the Gloucester
area. Also chartered in the Virgin Islands for 2 weeks.

Happy Sailing where the Wind is Free.

I have been doing inland sailing on 16' daysailors for the
last four years. I bought this boat used and in need of repair which
has been completed by me. I have also taught my 11 year old daughter to sail
    including the main and jib.

I sailed as a passenger and part time helmsman on a 40'
sailboat out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida for an afternoon.

This past summer, I sailed for a couple of days in
Harpswell sound adjacent to Bailey's Island Main on my 16' boat.
Also passengered on the Appledore IV, an 85' windjammer out of
    Boothbay Harbor, Maine.

I attended a three evening Coast Guard workshop
    on course plotting and piloting.

I'd be interested in sailing Boston harbor this summer or
fall, if you can use my help.

    		Thanks,

1510.3Daysailing Crew WantedMSEE::SHERWOODWed Jun 12 1991 16:1910
Have occassional need for crew to help sail my 20 ft Corinthian class
    daysailer, moored in Marblehead harbor.

Although Corinthians are raced in Marblehead, my sailing is strictly
    leisurely daysailing.

If interested, send mail to MSEE::SHERWOOD or call me at DTN 285-2044
    for additional information.
