| Now that I've introduced myself........
I've been doing some research on the next boat which I plan to buy in the
spring of 1990. I don't think I'm starting too soon. First, a few more
vitals on me to help along any advice offerred.
1. I've been sailing for 3 years now as much as I can get out from May 1
to Nov 1. Anybody need crew?
2. While relatively new to sailing I'm not to being on the sea and boats.
All my childhood to age 23 was commercial fishing and lobstering inside
and out. (on the banks) Don't all Maine'rs do this? (Don't ask how I got
into computers)
3. I like to cruise. I've worked the seas and boats enough. I want to enjoy
it now. I plan to cruise close and alot at first then far and wide....all
in due time though.....I may live on it...I'm single.
4. I've read new/used args'. It will be used but not very. Must be post '84.
Probably means in mid 90's for boats below. All east coast is my market.
Where can I get issues of soundings? Can I subscribe?
5. I'm seriously looking at 2 boats now...
Sabre 34 sloop...it's maine built...looks quality.
Crealock 34 cutter (prefer cutter)...looks quality.
could someone provide BUC on these for me?
comments ???
should I add more to list...which ones...lots of comparing now only...
Test spin around the block..practical?, of value? and how?
6. Financing. HELP!!!!! I can't believe how little I know here.
a. What are current rates now and years. is 20 tops?
b. Can I deduct interest like a home if I live-aboard?
c. Marinas and cost per year? Read some horror stories in here...
( I pay $700 for 4/15 to 11/1 at marina now for 19.2' boat )
d. Insurance cost. "regular" vs Live-aboard. Territory limits.
Thanx.....
