| I have not seen an Alland around for quite a while. As I recall they
where not well built,ie they had the absolute minimum size
rigging,cleats,et.al.
In this market you should beable to find something much better.
Good luck.

| At the risk of offending current owners, we have two 31's at our
club. They have participated casually in the clubs cruising class
racing competition and rarely finish in the allotted time. When
leaving or entering the channel, the standard joke when passing
the Allmand's on their moorings...."There's an Allmand, doing what
it does best."
Sorry,
Bob

Saw your PS about SABRE.
My wife and I currenlty own a 1974 Sabre 28'. We bought it last
year and a VERY happy with it.
If you are looking for Sabres try calling "The Yacht Headquaters" in
Portsmouth RI. Last I knew they had several used Sabres and are also
the RI dealer for the new ones.
We bought are boat thru them last year. If you call ask for a man
named Kim Anderson (he is a guy), we were very pleased with him.
Feel free to use my name.
If you have any questions please feel free to call.

| Chris,
If you're still in the market for a 30 footer and haven't purchased
and Allman or Sabre yet, you may be interested in a 32' Islander. It
belongs to a good friend of mine who has just purchased a larger boat.
His Islander is up in E.Boothbay, Maine and he'll let it go for $24k.
It has a new dodger, a roller jib, a fin keel and a spade rudder.
I'm not sure if it's the fastest boat around, but I know Win has taken
good care of it. You can call him (Win Russell) in Acton Mass at (508)
263 5743 for more info. You may want to charter it for a week to try
it out first.
Good Sailing,
Gary
