1390.0. "S2 10.3 Info Needed" by CSOA1::GELO () Mon Nov 13 1989 20:08
Does anyone have information on the S2 10.3 meter? It is the
latest BOTW (Boat of the Week) in my quest for a bigger boat. I
know S2 Yachts got out of the sailboat buisness, and just makes
powerboats, but I really like the lines of the 10.3 and quality
construction.
Has anyone competed against one? PHRF is supposed to be around
120. Not the fastest thing that floats, but I'm not looking to be
the Intergalitic Sailing Champion. Just club racing, and a few long
distance races. Also looking to the 10.3 as a weekend cruiser.
I've only seen 1 listed in brokerages. Is the 10.3 so great
that nobody wants to sell one? Or did S2 not sell that many. Lots
of people own the 9.1, and think it's a good all-around boat,
but I'm wondering why I haven't seen any 10.3's around...either
on the water or on the used boat market.

| I've competed against one. It will sail to its rating. 120 is
not slow. Maybe not in the same league speedwise as the J33 and
J35 but it's a lot more spacious than either of those. It's a good
boat.

1390.2 | A good cruising boat | HAMSTR::PACL | | Wed Nov 15 1989 13:56 | 3 |
| I've chartered one. It sailed well and I thought it was well designed
- cabin, fittings, - a good cruising boat!
