1278.0. "Daysailor Rental on Cape Cod?" by VIA::RUDY () Thu Jul 13 1989 10:45

There is a place right off rt 28 where it crosses the Bass river (in
Yarmouth I believe). They have Sunfish's and some Rhodes 18's. Their
prices where a little steep though. I can't remember the name
but they are in the phone book. One thing to consider is that
you may have to beat out of the river to get to open water. There
will be many moored boats and obsticles in your way so you'll have
to tack a lot. I can't remember if the Rhodes have engines or not.

Not much help but a start

1278.2Three PossibilitiesISLNDS::LANEThu Jul 13 1989 18:0014
    There's a place further along Rte. 28, in Harwichport, Small Craft
    of Cape Cod I think. They have Hobie Cats, 14' day sailors, canoes,
    windsurfers, etc. distributed around beaches in the area. One of
    their locations is on Pleasant Bay in Chatham at the Wequasett Inn.

    Also, in Wellfleet Harbor, at the Town Pier are some folks with
    14'-15' cat boats, as well as outboard skiffs etc.

    Sunfish are available on the lake in Nickerson State Park.

    Enjoy !

    I checked out a place in Falmouth Inner Harbor about two years ago
    that had several types. I didn't do it because of the price per
    hour, but it may be different for the day or weekend?? There was
    a sign on the right as you entered the wharf from the east side.

    YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK OUT ARREY'S POND BOAT YARD IN SOUTH ORLEANS.
    THEY HAVE A LOT OF DAY SAILERS THERE, BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THEY ARE
    FOR RENT. THE NUMBER IS (508) 255-0994.

1278.5Question on boats for rent, but not on the CapeVLNVAX::DMICHAELSONFri Aug 04 1989 18:1812
    I would like to rent a Hobbie or a small day sailer. I prefer the
    Hobbie cause its more fun (IMO).

    My problem is I will be up by Sebago Lake ME, Long Lake actually, and have
    not found anyone who rents sail boats up there. Does anyone know of an
    outfit that rents Hobbies and trailers? OR better yet an outfit up by
    Long Lake that does. I cant find one!?!?!?!?

    Thanks for any info you can send my way.

    This is but a vague memory but I believe either Nauset Marine or Goose
    Hummock rents boats. Both are located in Orleans near the Eastham
    line.

    Goose Hummock # is (508) 255-0455 /
