        Multihull magazine comes out of the Salem Ma area. It covers
    most types of multihulls.

        Hobie hotline covers only Hobie cats, They are out of
    California. I don't have the address with me, but I can get it
    if you wish.

        You will not find most these magazines in book stores as there
    simply is not enough demand by the general public to warrant it
    (Some folks just don't know a good thing when they see it).

| 1219.2 | Multihulls Magazine info | CDR::SPENCER | John Spencer | Wed May 24 1989 15:02 | 21 |
| | Here's about the only magazine devoted to multihulls in general, 98% sail
and 2% power:
		Multihulls Magazine
		421 Hancock St
		North Quincy, MA  02171-9981
Subscription rates are $22.00/year surface post to foreign countries,
$39.50/year airmail. (Domestic rates are $18/yr, $32/two-yrs.) They
publish bi-monthly.
The editor/publisher and frequent writer is Charles Chiodi, who puts
together a generally interesting if somewhat unpolished effort each issue.
Nothing very slick, the writing is mostly mediocre, and Mr. C is pretty
opinionated to the point of occasionaly being tiresome. BUT, it is the
only ongoing comprehensive survey of contemporary multihull design and
construction worldwide (articles from Australia, a real hotbed, are as
frequent as from the US). *All* the major multihull designers working
today seem to write or participate in the magazine to some degree or other.

| 1219.4 | Sailing World and Sail Mags | SLSTRN::RONDINA |  | Fri Mar 02 1990 08:34 | 20 |
| | I know that this notes was started about cats. However, the title
    suggests information on any sailing magazines in the US. So here goes
    my 2 cents about the 2 mags I get.

    Sailing World - published monthly by Cruising World, 5 John Clarke Rd,
    Newport, RI, 02840.  Cost for 12 issues - $21.75, call 1-800-876-3971
    This mag specializes on raising and performance sailing. I do not
    race, so it is hard for me to judge the quality of the info, but I have
    used some tips for better performance in my sailing

    Sail - published monthly Charlestown Navy Yard, 100 First Ave,
    Charlestown MA 02129. Cost is $21.75. I like the variety of this
    magazine, cruising, performance, new gear, boat reviews, charter info,
    slick and glossy.

    If you have info on other magazines, please enter. I particularly
    would like to have information on New England Coastal News which I saw
    in another note.

| 1219.5 | seeking WoodenBoat and Smallcraft Journal | HYSTER::ROBINSON_J |  | Wed Oct 17 1990 17:18 | 7 |

    Could anyone loan me a back issue of either WoodenBoat or SmallCraft
    Journal? I'm looking for plans for small wooden catamarans, and
    received a pointer to ads often found in these mags.

    I'm in MK1. Any replies via email would be greatly appreciated.

| 1219.6 | Small Boat Journal ? | PHAROS::NORMAN |  | Thu Apr 29 1993 07:59 | 11 |
|  |     I think there's a magazine titled Small Boat (Craft) Journal, but can't
    seem to locate a source (retail or subscription).

    I've seen Sail, Sailing, and a variety of Cruise magazines. They all
    seem a bit too glossy for my tastes. I'm looking for something focusing
    on the low end cruiser: (19' (biggest) and under, trailerable, single
    sailor, weekender, etc, practical hints, fix it stuff, etc.)

    Has anyone run across such a publication(s)?

    Replies could be posted here on forwarded to Pharos::Norman.

| 1219.7 | Messing About in Boats | DEMOAX::GINGER | Ron Ginger | Thu Apr 29 1993 11:08 | 17 |
| | There WAS a magazine called SMALL BOAT JOURNAL. But they got sold a
    couple times and changed the name to eliminate SMALL, then started
    focusing on high speed power boats with nearly nude models on board.

    ALl the people I know that are into real small boats have dropped
    subscribing.

    Without doubt, (thinly veiled opinon :-), MESSING ABOUT IN BOATS is the
    best thing for thoose interested in small, non-motor powered boats. I
    think its been mentioned here before. Its published every two weeks,
    costs $20 per year. It is focused to the North East, but often
    has reader contributed material from all over the US. Readership is
    much broader than NE. Info from:
