Cleaning and defeathering not required. Add salt or salted water. Boil till fork can be stuck in the brick. ... then eat the brick. ... Bob

Shades of an old backwoods recipe for making tasty coot (known to be a rather tough bird, at best): Take a kettle full of water, put in the coot and boil for 24 hours. Take the coot out of the water and throw away the water. Fill the kettle with water and boil the coot for another 24 hours. Take the coot out of the water, throw away the water, and nail the coot to a board. Place the board outside in the sun for three days. Take the coot off the board, throw away the coot, eat the board. | |||||
