1003.0. "Traditional Small Craft Assoc" by GONAVY::GINGER () Mon Oct 03 1988 17:04

    The traditional Small Craft Association of the Peabody museum will
    open its fall season with a meeting on Thursday night, Oct 6. The
    speaker will be Doug Alvord, a well known marine artist and boat
    designer. He recently published a very nice small book, I think
    called 'On the Water' He also did most of the early Wooden Boat
    show posters.

    Along with Doug will be his most recent boat project, a 9' sharpie,
    and its builder 'Dynamite' Payson. Dynamite is the author of "Instant
    Boats' and a couple other books on quick and eassy boatbuilding.
    Dynamite wouldnt agree to come as a speaker, but is coming 'just
    to answer questions'. It should be a fine program.

    Meetings are the first Thursday of each month, in the Special Events
    Room of the Peabody Museum. The entrance is around the back, the
    main museum is closed on Thursday nights. The club is VERY low-key,
    the 'leader' without any formal title, is Bob Hicks, editor/publisher
    photographer/paste-up person/etc/etc of Messing About in Boats.

    All are welcome. I drive up rt 128 from Framingham with a van, normally
    carrying about 5-6 people, have room for a couple more.
