    Greg,
     Rhode Is has a free pocket book called the "PORT Book" that lists
    all kinds of restaurants and facilities. You could probably have
    them send you one. I would try the Providence Telephone book under
    state government. I have the book at home if you are in the Mill
    I could bring it in for you....

936.2Nice, but dullAKOV12::DJOHNSTONThu Aug 04 1988 14:297
    Greg, there are a bunch of little restaraunts up the street from
    Conanicut marine. Launch service is a bit unreliable, so bring
    a dink if possible. Jamestown is not a roaring place but very
    pleasant.

936.3Not much, but . . .CSSE::COUTUREAbandon shoreTue Aug 09 1988 12:3720
    Connanicut Marina is a little pricy during the high season. A mooring
    will run you $27 a night (includes launch) and dockage is $1.80
    per foot. The heads are the cleanest I've seen anywhere. There
    are a few nice little restaurants right up the street (West) from
    the marina gas dock. One is The Islander which is okay for dinner
    and not too expensive. There is also a small cafe inside a converted
    movie theatre (now mini-mall) just up the street from The Islander
    which serves a good cheap breakfast. If you're into fancy, Head
    North from the Marina to the Bay Voyage Inn which GLADLY takes
    American Express.

    Another possibility is to catch the bus (RITA public transportation)
    across the bridge to Newport. Bus schedules are inside a tobacco
    shop directly across from Ferry Landing (the gas dock).

    By far the best meals I've had in Jamestown came directly from
    Encore's galley - even Dinty Moore tastes great aboard.
