883.0. "Looking for Capri 14.2" by 37967::SNORMAN () Tue Jul 05 1988 10:56

    Last year I enjoyed a season of instructional sailing and can't
    quite shake the bug.. I understand the Capri to be an excellent
    first boat for the novice sailor.

    I'm Looking for a Capri 14.2 (daysailer).. I'd appreciate any
    advice on area Dealers: (Worcester County, southern NH), the
    merits of buying new vs used, up-front costs I should expect..

    If you're not too locked into Capri, Wilderness Marine in Amherst,
    N.H. (On RT101A) sells O'Day (Daysailer 3) and Hoby (Holder 14).
     They also sell several varieties of "wet boats".

    I got my 14.2 at Winnipausakee Sailing Center in Gilford NH. It was a
    good boat. Some days I regret moving up from it.

    I don't know much about a Capri, but I've got a Holder 14 that
    I sail on Winnepasaukee and Ossippee ......

    I bought it used from a friend BEFORE I knew how to sail ..... I
    took lessons this Spring and now know (something anyway) about
    sailing .....

    I find it enjoyable ...... it has good beam (about 5 feet) and it
    is pretty stable. Main and Jib with a daggerboard.

    If you want to know more let me know.
