Earlier this year I re-antifouled CIRCE with a copper cruising
colpolymer. TBT was banned over here in the UK last summer. I have
already had to dry out to scrub the start of some weed. Never happened
with TBT based paints. Discussing it with other owners on the pontoon
it would seem that they have had similiar experiances. I rang
International Paint who were very helpful and said that the quality
of the paints would get better over a period of time but they had
to release product early because the ban on TBT was introduced a
year earlier than was envisaged. I think that I will now have to
dry and scrub 4-5 times during the season rather than twice.
Anybody experiancing similiar festoonments?

I am using 44 for the second season. I used 33 previously. I
dont think I noticed a difference in the rate of slime accumulation
between these paints, but the boat didnt have to go as far/fast
to self clean with the 33. I attribute that to the fact that the
33 was a softer ablating paint than the 44.
By the way 44 is the predecessor to CSC. It contained some tin,
but is mostly copper.
