857.1GREATER LOWELL REGATTA SAILING PROGRAMSTAR::KENNEYFri Jun 03 1988 18:0621
Yes, it is called the GREATER LOWELL REGATTA SAILING PROGRAM. The
    address is :

    	525 Pawtucket Blvd
        Lowell, Ma 01854
        Phone 671-459-3305

    The hours are 10:00 - 20:00 weekends and 12:00 to 20:00 monday-friday.
If you are located in ZK I have a club brochure you can have. I have
been a member for the last 2 years and I am part of the volunteer
staff. It is one of the best bargins I have found, $80 for unlimiteed
use of boats and lessons for a single adult, and $120 for a couple. The
only requirement is that you can swim 75 yards and tread water for 1
    minute.

Ps. I spend most weekends at the boat house from 12:30 to closing
         stop by.

Thank you for the info. I certainly will join the program after
I can make the swimming requirement. I am currently taking a swimming
class. Hopefully, with more practice, I can join the program before
    summer ends.

The cat is a Trac 14. I'm a returning old member, just joined for 4 weeks.
I haven't sailed it yet, but it looks like fun. I wonder how fast
you can make it to the 290 bridge on it? The Daysailers seem to
    take all day.

Anyone know when the Finn and the 100 are going in the water?

And are they still having racing classes? I can never remember
racing rules when I'm actually in a race.

    Bill.

4th of July bridge to bridge took from 10:30 til 1:00 (not
all day but close..) with dead calm for 45 min in middle of race.

BUT I've made in down and back in 45 min with a good easterly,
lonnnnnng reach down and lonnnng reach back....

> Anyone know when the Finn and the 100 are going in the water?

Finn is in the water (the beige one is anyway, the other one
	is still in refurb).

100 ?? do you mean the 110 Keel-boat? If so, the hull is in the
water but they haven't rigged it yet (don't know why not.)

don't know about racing classes, but the tiller club
meets every sunday morning @9:00 for a round of 2-4 short course
races, we learn by doing (or in my case attempting to do...)
(I generally hold the committee boat position, oh well...)

gjm (look over your stern and I'll be there...trying my d***dist)
