I am looking to buy a infalatable boat so that I could go fishing
with.I don't like the idea of pulling a trailer.So I thought a rubber
raft with a 10 to 15 hp motor would be good.I really could use your
advise on what to buy. I have look at a Achilles SD-124 I would
like to look at an Avon of the same type. I'am really green on boating
and would appericate any info you can give on the subject.
Thanks
Russ

Practical sailor has done write-ips on inflatables a few times.
If I'm not mistaken, they most recent issues have had their evaluation
of several name brands. They break them down into four categories,
dinghy, sport tenders, sport boats and RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats).

Response .1 is correct. Practical Sailor Volume 14, Numbers 5 and
6, dated March 1 and March 15, 1988 have articles on inflatable
boats. The article discusses the types of inflatables, provides
specifications and prices of a long list of boats, discusses
construction, durability, repair rates and includes owner comments.
I have both copies and would be happy to send you copies if you
have not seen them already. Send me mail at ISAIL::RICKARD.
