632.0. "Nantucket Sharpie" by YODA::FAY () Mon Aug 24 1987 16:43
I looked at a Nantucket Sharpie this weekend and was wondering if
anyone out in NOTESland had any more info on it. The Sharpie is a 10ft
wood boat and is built out on Nantucket, by (you guessed it) the
Nantucket Shipyard. The one I looked at was in good condition,
though the hull does need to be repainted, it also had two sets
of sail (mainsail and jib).
How much would a new one go for?
Do they have a long life?
What would a three or four year old one with 2 sets of sail go for?
A related question, as I am trying to find out what all the hidden
costs would be. I would like to trailer it and cart it around,
I did look at a EZ Loader trailer that would run about $330, can
they be found for less? Or is there any other brand of trailers
I should take a look at?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan
