I've signed up (finally) for the beginners course at Coastal Sailing School for next week (Aug 31-Sep 4). I'm in trouble. Sounds like I'm the only one signed up, and, unless I can find a couple more people to take the course, I'm going to be cancelled! If anyone is interested (or knows of someone interested) in taking this course, call them at 617-639-0553. The course in in Marblehead. Its 5 afternoons, and costs $245. See an earlier note dated around 8-Apr for more information. - stp

My wife and I took the Coastal Sailing School course.. I & my Wife were not too impressed with it. If I were you I'd take the lessons given by Jim Pennock near the landing in back of the Landing Tavern. He knows HOW to sail. He can manouver a sailboat ANYWHERE! We were scheduled to take His course , but the commute to get to his classes in the evening was impossible. In retrospect I wish we had taken his course. I'm not sure of the name of his school, but if you walk down the ally in bach of the Landing and go down to Dockside and ask for Jim Pennock they'll introduce you to him. He's a real character.
