I am considering having a boat built in the next year or so.
Can anyone tell me if the procedure is the same to finance
a custom boat as it is for production boats? Also, what are
some good marine financing companies?

| 517.1 | ...last issue WOODEN BOAT ? | BRAT::FAULKNER | Tue Mar 31 1987 13:19 | 12 | |
Vic, I think it was the last issue of Wooden Boat magazine that
had an article on just the info you seek. It was aimed more at the
new and used wood boats, but mentioned other materials as well.
I'll see if I can remember to bring it in. It might not hurt to
give some of the larger yacht financing folks a call, like Yaegen
or Horizon. My experience has been that they're quite helpfull on
production boats(if a bit solicitous), they might have special packages
for custom jobs, and probably lower rates.

| 517.2 | ...February Wooden Boat | BRAT::FAULKNER | Wed Apr 01 1987 13:16 | 4 | |
.... it was February Wooden Boat, and pertained to wood. If you're
thinking of new wood construction you ought to check it out.

Hi John,
Thanks for the info. By the way, how is Merrimack these
days? I haven't been there since I left field service.
